Job summary

Full Sail University is seeking a part-time faculty member for the Music Business program in Florida. The role supports learning through dynamic teaching, both on-campus and online, with a focus on current industry practices.

Requirements include a minimum of four years of related work experience and a preference for a Master's or 18 hours toward a related field. Applicants must reside in Florida and be able to work up to 20 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Minimum of four (4) years of related and verifiable work experience.
• Master's degree preferred or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Business Management, Entertainment Business, Music Business, or at least 18 semester hours in a related discipline from an accredited college or university.
• A terminal degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create an environment of learning through effective teaching skills, maintain student-centered focus, and update curriculum to keep current and relevant to industry standards.
• Utilize a variety of teaching strategies and encourage active learning.
• Create learning activities, including assignments, tests, quizzes and labs, and assess student outcomes in a timely manner through effective assessment and constructive feedback to students to support the learning process.
• Perform lectures for campus courses, and hold scheduled virtual course meetings for online courses. Teaching will be conducted through on-campus and online delivery.
• Interact positively with diverse student populations; provide all students with equal opportunities for learning.
• Demonstrate a commitment to the industry, maintain knowledge and skill relevancy through continuing education as defined in the faculty development plan.

The Music Business program provides a well-rounded and in-depth study of the fundamentals of music business and management, focusing on how those skills can be applied in the entertainment and music industry. Throughout the degree programs, students work in a professional, project-based environment, designed to recreate the challenges and opportunities they'll encounter in the world of entertainment business. Foundational business topics include studies in management, marketing, accounting, finance, communications, and law, laying the groundwork for more advanced industry studies including business models, global media management, digital marketing, entrepreneurship, audience metrics, and more.

This position is part time working no more than 20 hours per week, on-campus OR online and must be resident in the state of Florida.

Education and/or Experience:

Environmental Factors/Physical Demands:

Work is performed in an office and classroom environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to have the ability to maintain active student and employee communication; access, input and retrieve information from the computer system. May be subject to; bending, reaching, kneeling, stooping and lifting up to thirty (30) pounds.
