Job summary

Johnson County Community College is seeking an Adjunct Faculty member for Mathematics. This position involves teaching a variety of mathematics and statistics courses ranging from Contemporary Math to Differential Equations on campus.

Classes may be scheduled in summer, fall, or spring semesters, and require a Master's degree with relevant graduate credits. The successful candidate will possess strong communication skills, experience in teaching, and an understanding of the needs of community

Type of Position: Adjunct Faculty

Exemption Status: Exempt

Work Schedule, Hours per week: Varies depending on department needs.

Opportunity for hybrid schedule: No

Starting Salary Range: AJCR $1,262-$1,404 per credit hour and in accordance with the adjunct table and determined based on relevant years of work experience provided on application and resume.

Position Summary

Teach one or more mathematics and/or statistics courses ranging from Contemporary Math through Differential Equations and Business Statistics. Classes will be available during the summer, fall, and spring semesters and will be taught on the JCCC campus in a face-to-face format.

Required Qualifications

• Master's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, or related field with a minimum of 18 graduate credit hours earned in mathematics-intensive courses.

Preferred Qualifications

• Good oral and written communication skills, and a demonstrated understanding of students at a community college.
• Experience teaching at the community college level.
• Experience using Canvas or similar learning management system.
• Ability to effectively teach statistics courses.
