Salary Range: $29.00 To $29.00 Hourly

Position Summary:

Engage students in the teaching/learning process, work assigned schedule, and perform other related duties as required. The position involves teaching Manufacturing and Mechanical Engineering Technology courses in traditionally delivered and web-based formats and meeting College service expectations. Potential subject matter to be taught based on candidate’s attributes include Machining Processes, Advanced Machining, CNC, Advanced CNC Mills and Lathes, Hydraulics and Pneumatics, and Mechanical Power Transmission.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Plan and teaching courses that fulfill the current curriculum goals and program learning objectives.
  • Remains current with subject matter and instructional methodology.
  • Maintains classroom hours in accordance with departmental and College policies.
  • Employs appropriate assessment techniques to measure student performance in achieving course goals and objectives.
  • Communicates progress in the course to students in a timely manner.
  • Determines and submits students' grades in accordance with established College policies and procedures.
  • Supports the mission of the program, division, and College.
Supervisory Responsibilities:

There are no supervisory responsibilities associated with this position.

Education and/or Experience:
  • A A.A.S. Degree in Machining/Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred but not required.
  • Journeyman card and/or other industry certifications preferred but not required.
  • Minimum of five plus years’ experience in related industry experience in machining. manufacturing, mechanical systems, or skilled trades required.
Other Skills, and Abilities:
  • Ability to work a combination of days/evening schedules
  • Ability to effectively communicate one-on-one, in small groups, and in classroom situations
  • Demonstrated commitment to student success and to enhancing teaching and learning
  • Proficient in Microsoft word-processing and presentation software, internet, and e-mail
