Adjunctfaculty members are responsible for delivering curriculum, providinginstruction, and performing student learning assessment. The successfulcandidate will demonstrate the ability to effectively use instructional andclassroom technology to enhance teaching and learning. Courses atWaubonsee Community College may be offered in various delivery modes including,but not limited to, face-to-face, asynchronous online, synchronous online,hybrid, and flex, but WCC does not hire fully remote instructors.

Machining Fundamentals, 3 credits
MTT 108
This course is designed to introduce students to the fundamental skills and knowledge necessary for a successful career in the machine tool industry. Topics include workplace skills, materials, safety, semi-precision measurement, precision measurement, maintenance, cutting fluids, job planning, benchwork, layout, hand tools, Machinery’s Handbook, and drill press operations. Students will have the opportunity to earn the Measurement, Materials and Safety National Institute for Metalworking Skills (NIMS) credential, as well as the Job Planning, Benchwork and Layout NIMS credential.

Metrology/Mechanical Inspection, 2 credits
MTT 111
Principles of dimensional measurement are covered, with a focus on the terminology, methodology, and practice of measurement systems and equipment in the calibration and the use of basic measuring tools. Topics include usage of micrometers, Vernier measurement scale, dial and test indicators, calipers, surface plates, building gage blocks, and comparative measurement techniques. Recommended Prereq, MTT110 or concurrent enrollment

Essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to:
  • Designingsyllabi, lessons, activities, assignments, and assessments to meet theestablished course description as well as program, course, and college learningoutcomes and/or objectives while addressing each student’s needs as diverselearners.
  • Meeting all college deadlines for submission of attendance, grades and datacollection for assessment of student learning.
  • Incorporating learning-centered principles and concepts while motivatingstudents to actively participate in their educational experiences.
  • Integrating instructional and classroom technology (if applicable)appropriately and effectively to deliver and enhance teaching and learning.
  • Working collaboratively with professional colleagues to serve the needs ofstudents and the community.
  • Modeling professionalism with excellent communication, presentation, andinterpersonal skills.
  • Associate'sdegree in Industrial Technology or related field and/or industry certification(s)and 4000 hours of work-related experience in the field.
Minimum Experience

Associate in Applied Science or relatedfield and/or industry certification(s) and 4000 hours of work-relatedexperience in the field.

Preferred Experience

Experienceteaching at a Community College or Vocational/Technical institution.

Teaching traditionally underserved populations.

Incorporating technology and multimedia applications into teaching and learningprocess.

Teaching in multiple instructional modalities.

Utilizing Learning Management Systems.
