Job description

The ESL, Languages, and Cultures department at Middlesex College invites applications for part-time Adjunct Faculty Members to teach Italian for Spring 2026 and upcoming semesters.

Minimum Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Italian or Applied Linguistics
• Experience teaching adult learners
• Subject matter expertise

Preferred Qualifications

• Available to teach in person, days and/or evenings
• Familiarity with Canvas
• Experience teaching in higher education
• Experience teaching in an international location

Supplemental Information

We are currently ONLY looking for adjuncts who can teach in person. Staffing needs include Edison and the Perth Amboy Center. Note that the rate of pay is determined by the collective bargaining agreement.

Effective pre-Summer 2025, compensation for adjunct instructors is determined by number of semesters taught and ranges from $992 - $1190 per contact hour in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement with the Middlesex College Chapter of The United Adjunct Union Faculty of New Jersey, Local 2222, NJSFT, AFT (AFL-CIO).
