About Eastern Washington University

Eastern Washington University, a regional, comprehensive public university with an enrollment of over 10,000 students, is one of six state-funded four-year institutions of higher education in Washington, each governed by its own board of trustees. Job Summary

Adjunct faculty are hired to fulfill responsibilities which will be specified in their letter of appointment.

Unless otherwise specified in the adjunct faculty member's letter of appointment, workload consists solely of instruction.

All faculty are expected to engage in effective teaching and assessment of student learning.

  • Benefits:** Faculty eligibility rules are complex and depend on the nature of your appointment. **Faculty with a quarter-to-quarter or semester-to-semester appointment** who are in an EWU paid appointment of at least 50 percent or more are eligible for PEBB insurance on the first day of the month following the start of their **second consecutive** academic term. **See** WAC 182-12-114 section (3)(a)(ii) for more details.
