Job summary

WSU Tech is seeking an Adjunct Faculty Instructor to provide subject matter expertise and teach courses according to approved syllabi. The role includes preparing syllabi, updating curriculum, and ensuring content aligns with course objectives within the Learning Management System.

The instructor will design engaging units, integrate instructional technologies, and adapt to diverse learning styles to maximize student success while maintaining professional behaviors and alignment with department

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in related field required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• IT industry certifications are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Files an appropriate course syllabus for each course taught in the LMS.
• Ensure curriculum content is current and pedagogically sound.
• Maintain high subject matter expertise and engage students.
• Teach per approved syllabus and hold exams as scheduled unless approved otherwise.
• Inform students about course content, requirements, evaluation, and attendance.

Job description

Overview / Job Summary:
The Adjunct Faculty Instructor provides subject matter expertise. Additional responsibility to teach courses, adhering to lesson plans, meeting course objectives, beginning and ending courses on time as scheduled and adhering to academic faculty ethical and professional behaviors.
Your day-to-dayresponsibilitieswill vary, but are not limited to:

• Files an appropriate course syllabus for each course taught within the course shell of the appropriate Learning Management System.
• Ensures that each program/class contains essential curricular components, has appropriate content and pedagogy, and maintains currency.
• Maintains a high level of expertise in the subjects taught and stimulates enthusiasm for those subjects.
• Teaches all classes according to an approved course syllabus, ensuring that assigned classes are held as scheduled. Holds the final exam at the time scheduled unless permission to deviate has been approved by the department Dean/Director
• Keeps students informed and updated concerning course content, requirements, evaluation procedures and attendance requirements.

The instructor meticulously designs every unit and lesson, ensuring both the content and delivery methods are engaging and purposeful. They adeptly integrate instructional technologies into their teaching approach. Each course they teach is meticulously organized to optimize learning outcomes. By understanding and catering to students' diverse learning styles, they create an environment conducive to effective teaching and learning, maximizing opportunities for every student to succeed.

Education, Experience, Knowledge & Skills Needed:

• Associate's degree in related field,required. Bachelors degree in related field, preferred.
• Information Technology industry recognized certifications, preferred

• Minimum of 3-5 years’ full-time work experience in industry preferred.
• The ability to work professionally with staff, students, administration and others.
• The ability to work effectively with diverse student populations.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to pay attention to detail.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Accepts responsibility and fulfills commitments while promoting collaboration between day and evening program faculty.
