Job summary

Clovis Community College invites applications for an Adjunct/Part Time Faculty (Fixed Term) in the Instruction department. Under general supervision, adjunct instructors collaborate with faculty to ensure discipline concepts are addressed and taught effectively.

Responsibilities include delivering lectures, developing syllabi with outcomes, using Canvas and other tools, providing timely feedback, maintaining student records, and supporting college policies.

Qualifications

• Cosmetology and Barbering Licenses through New Mexico Boards of Barbers and Cosmetologists required.
• Three years full-time work experience as a cosmetologist or barber required.

Responsibilities

• Provide students with a complete syllabus containing course outcomes and competencies.
• Present well prepared, organized lectures and classroom activities consistent with the course syllabus.
• Continually promote development and effective use of skills in critical thinking, evaluation, communication, computation, problem solving, assessment and decision-making.
• Provide students with timely information and feedback on academic progress relative to quizzes, tests, homework and projects.
• Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of student academic performance.
• Possess a thorough knowledge and understanding of all college policies.
• Use technology tools including Canvas, Starfish, e-mail, MS Office, and the Internet.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Position Summary

Under general supervision of and in accordance with Clovis Community College and departmentally established practices and expectations, adjunct instructors work collaboratively with other faculty within the College and their discipline to ensure that key concepts of the specific discipline are addressed.

Duties & Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Teaching assignments may vary depending on the specific qualifications and expertise of the individual.

• The Instructor will provide students with a complete syllabus containing course outcomes and competencies

• Present well prepared, organized, and clear lectures and classroom activities consistent with the course syllabus

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Requires frequent and continuous sitting/moving about, continuous use of fine motor skills, and pushing and pulling of up to 20 lbs.

SCHEDULE DETAILS:

Will vary. Occasional evening and weekend hours may be required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Cosmetology AND Barbering Licenses through New Mexico Boards of Barbers and Cosmetologists required.
• Three years full-time work experience as a cosmetologist or barber required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Teaching license through New Mexico Boards of Barbers and Cosmetologist preferred.
