Position Title: Adjunct Faculty, History
Reports To: Department Chair
Position Summary:
The History Department at Manhattan University in the Riverdale section of the Bronx, NY invites applications for adjunct faculty in Fall 2025, with classes beginning August 25. We are seeking adjunct faculty to teach History courses on a part-time basis. The ideal candidate will have a passion for History and a strong background in the subject matter to teach one or two sections of a first-half US History survey-level course “US History through 1876.” The 3-credit classes are in person, and are capped at 30 students. The classes are scheduled for Monday and Thursday, 1:30-2:45 p.m., and Monday and Thursday, 3:00-4:15 p.m. This is an in-person, on-campus, non-remote position.
Responsibilities:
Teach 3-6 credits during the semester.
Qualifications:
Master's degree required, Doctorate degree preferred in History or a related field.
Strong knowledge of historical events, theories, and methodologies.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated passion for teaching and helping students learn and grow.
Salary Range Based on Experience:
Assistant Professor $1526.25 per credit
