Job summary

South University in the United States seeks an experienced nursing educator to teach in our DNP/FNP programs, on-campus and online. You will develop course materials, deliver engaging instruction, and support student success.

The ideal candidate holds a DNP or PhD in Nursing with FNP certification, 1–5 years of teaching or formal education experience, and excellent communication skills. You will contribute to curriculum development and student mentoring.

Qualifications

• DNP or PhD in Nursing with FNP certification required.
• 1–5 years’ experience in the instruction or formalized education process, preferably in a post-secondary or college institution.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to build successful relationships with student populations.
• Willingness to work in an accelerated learning format, online with students five of seven days per online week.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Instruct and facilitate meaningful learning of the course outcomesin the curriculum and proactively support all facets of thelearning environment. Provide education through learning-centeredinstruction that will enable graduates to fulfill the evolvingneeds of the marketplace. Encourage a culture of learning thatvalues mutual responsibility and respect, life-long learning,diversity, and ethics as well as personal and professionaldevelopment. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The following duties are representative of the essentialresponsibilities of this position. Additional duties may beassigned.

1. Provides competency-based education which aligns with the SouthUniversity model of curricula as well as supports the SouthUniversity style of system delivery.
2. Designs and delivers class instruction through the developmentof instructional plans to meet course competencies, to createactivities which support lesson objectives, and to deliver theinstruction as approved.
3. Enables the achievement of pre-described exit competencies forstudent achievement and evaluation of learning by providinginstruction which fosters competencies and establish studentperformance criteria and evaluation.
4. Delivers learning-centered instruction by establishing aclassroom environment conducive to learning and student involvementas well as effectively planning and preparing for classes andstudent success.
5. Promotes student success by showing flexibility in style andwork schedule as well as exhibiting a passion for teaching andstudents and engaging students in the learning process.
6. Manages the learning environment through keeping accuraterecords, submitting grades and other reports on time, and enforcingschool/campus academic and attendance policies.
7. Contributes to a learning culture by participating oncurriculum and system task forces, supporting local campus eventssuch as orientation and graduation, and participating in variousother workshops and meetings.
8. Relates professional/life/industry experience to learning bythe continuation of professional/technical skills development, theintroduction of industry perspective into courses, and the activeawareness of professional/industry trends and opportunities.

REQUIRED QULIFICATIONS:

Education:

• DNP or PhD in Nursing with FNP certification required.

Experience:

• One to five years’ experience in the instruction or formalizededucation process, preferably in a post-secondary or collegeinstitution.
• Experience as a FNP is strongly preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills including theability to build successful relationships with studentpopulations.

• Outstanding conflict resolution skills.
• Demonstrated time management and detail-oriented skills
• Computer based skills (i.e., software, analytical, and reportwriting skills)
• Ability to hold required office hours and respond to studentquestions and administration within the required responsetime.
• Ability to complete the New Faculty Orientation and otherassigned/required training (e.g., Code of Conduct) through SouthUniversity. (For Online Positions Only)
• Willingness to work in an accelerated learning format, workingonline with students five of seven days per online week.
• Willingness to attend meetings as required by the respectivedepartment.

License/Certifications:

• Membership in a professional association tied to area ofinstruction preferred.
