An established industry player is seeking adjunct professors to supervise pre-practicum and practicum candidates remotely. This role involves guiding student teachers through lesson planning, observation, and feedback, all conducted using advanced technology platforms. Ideal candidates will have a Master’s degree in education and at least three years of teaching experience, with a strong emphasis on providing constructive feedback and working in a compliance-oriented environment. This position allows for flexibility, enabling supervisors to maintain full-time teaching roles elsewhere while contributing to the development of future educators. If you are passionate about teaching and mentoring, this opportunity could be a perfect fit for you.
The McKeown School of Education at Salem State University is seeking adjunct professors to supervise pre-practicum and/or practicum teaching candidates remotely. Supervisors are required to meet with students for a pre-observation to discuss their lesson plans, watch videos of the candidate teaching, and provide oral and written feedback to the candidate in post-observation meetings. Supervisors also work with host teachers to support the student-teacher as they develop knowledge and skills across the time in the field, and hold regular, required meetings with the host teacher after each observation. Because most of this work is conducted remotely, the supervisor must use McKeown School’s technology platforms, such as Sibme and Canvas. Training is provided on all technology platforms, observation tools, and forms for licensure documentation. As this work is done remotely, supervisors can hold a full-time teaching job. Bi/multilingual supervisor candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
Compensation is based on the number of pre-practicum and/or practicum students supervised in a semester, ideally between 3 and 6 in number.
