Job summary

BYU–Hawaii is seeking a part-time, temporary adjunct to teach courses as needed on-island. The position may involve advising students and handling undergraduate coursework in areas such as Art, English, Communication, and Film.

Courses are assigned per semester and instruction is based on departmental needs. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree, with Master’s or Doctorate strongly preferred, from regionally accredited institutions.

Qualifications

• Approximate starting adjunct semester contract $1,250 - $2,000 per credit, the wage offered depends on degree and teaching experience.

Job description

This position is a temporary, part-time appointment specifically for on-island applicants. This semester-to-semester contract may only be teaching one class. There are no associated relocation benefits.

Educational Background

Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s/Doctorate degree in the subject area strongly preferred; must be from regionally accredited institutions. A strong commitment to excellence in teaching is advantageous.

Approximate starting adjunct semester contract $1,250 - $2,000 per credit, the wage offered is dependent upon applicants’ degree and years of university level teaching experience.
