Job summary

Syracuse University seeks Part-Time Faculty to teach EDU 516 Equitable Assessment for Inclusive Classrooms (3 Credits) at the Spring 2027 term. This role emphasizes equitable, inclusive, and antiracist perspectives on assessment and requires in-person engagement on campus.

Qualifications include a Master’s degree (Ph.D. preferred) and experience in both formal and informal assessment methods across K-12 or higher education settings.

Qualifications

• Masters Degree, Ph.D. preferred.
• Earned master’s degree in Education, Special Education, or a related field, with knowledge of equitable, inclusive, and antiracist approaches to assessment.
• Experience using formal and informal assessment methods to document growth for students with and without disabilities.
• Prior teaching experience in P-12 or higher education settings preferred, along with familiarity with adjusting curriculum and instruction based on assessment data.

Responsibilities

• Developing and/or updating a class syllabus.
• Ordering the appropriate books and materials in advance of the class start date.
• Preparation of lectures, projects or other student assignments.
• Meeting all designated class periods. If you are unable to meet your class due to illness or emergency, you should exercise your best effort to move to a synchronous or asynchronous option.
• Presenting instruction based on the competencies and performance levels of the course.
• Maintaining regularly scheduled office hours.
• Grading student assignments and exams in timely manner.
• Collect and submit student assessment data for accreditation purposes, if applicable.
• Submitting completed mid-semester progress reports and final grades according to University regulations.
• Providing departmentally sanctioned forms for completed student evaluations.
