Job summary

Responsibilities

• Create a dynamic teaching/learning environment for students.
• Contribute service to the college.
• Teach assigned courses in alignment with the course description and outline.
• Teach Composition I sections two days a week on scheduled days and times.
• Offer daytime (8 a.m.–5 p.m.) and evening (after 5 p.m.) sections as available.

Qualifications

Education:

• Master’s Degree in English is required.
• Doctorate and/or licensure may be preferred or required depending on discipline.

Experience:

• Prior college or university teaching experience preferred.
• Evidence of scholarly and/or professional activities.

Skills:

• Ability to work with students of multimodal learning styles and diverse levels of writing experience and preparation.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Work Hours

Composition I sections run two days a week on Mon/Wed, Tue/Thu, Mon/Thu, and Wed/Fri. Daytime sections are between 8 a.m.–5 p.m.; evening sections begin after 5 p.m.
