Job summary

Laurel Ridge Community College is seeking adjunct, part-time Engineering Technology faculty to teach college-level courses, including distance learning options. Courses may occur on the Middletown Campus, Fauquier Campus, or Luray-Page County Center, with day, evening and weekend availability.

Applicants should have a Bachelor's or Associate degree with relevant experience and be able to use instructional technology and Canvas.

Laurel Ridge Community College is accepting applications for adjunct, part-time faculty (day, evening and weekend) positions for an Engineering adjunct. Adjunct Faculty positions are appointed on a course-by-course, semester basis as needed. Responsibilities include teaching college level courses, which may include distance learning on and off campus courses during the day, evening and weekends. This position will be located on the Middletown Campus, Fauquier Campus, and Luray-Page County Center as needed.
All applicants must include unofficial transcripts at time of application. If any candidate with degrees awarded outside of the United States, please include unofficial evaluations for these foreign transcripts with your application. Should you be selected for hire, faculty who hold one or more degrees are required to submit official transcripts of all degrees, including official evaluations for any foreign transcripts to the Office of Human Resource Management.
Adjunct/Continuing Education Faculty listings are on a continuous, open until filled basis. Applicants will be contacted on an as needed basis. Submission of on-line application must also include unofficial transcripts of all college work completed (cover letters and resumes are optional, but recommended)

Compensation And Benefits
The credit hour pay range is $794.00-$1,375.50. The position is part time and as such is not eligible for health or leave benefits. However, the position may offer educational benefits through our professional development and educational assistance policies.

KSA's/Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors in the field or Associates in the field plus 2 years work experience in the field.
  • The ability to use instructional technology is required.
Additional Considerations
  • Occupational experience in the field.
  • Experience with Canvas or other online course management tools
  • College level teaching experience, online experience a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both orally and written
  • The ability to work with a diverse population of faculty, staff, and students
Operation of a State Vehicle No Supervises Employees No Required Travel
Adjunct faculty may work at any of our sites, centers or campuses. Classes may be online, hybrid or in-person.
