Job summary

Finger Lakes Community College seeks innovative adjunct faculty for the Science and Technology Department. Courses may be taught asynchronously online, in-person, hybrid, HyFlex, or synchronous online, based on training and experience.

Course topics include ESC 100 and ESC 105. Minimum and additional qualifications emphasize strong subject knowledge and CAD/engineering computing skills. Adjunct pay is provided per contact hour with NYS retirement benefits.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in related field of science; or Baccalaureate in related field of science with a Master's in Education plus relevant experience or certification(s); or Master's degree plus significant related job experience.
  • ESC 105 – Engineering Graphics: Knowledge of Autodesk Inventor or similar CAD software is required.
  • ESC 170 – Computing for Engineers: Knowledge of MATLAB and LabVIEW is required.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates knowledge of the current subject area.
  • Implements course outcomes based on the master syllabus.
  • Prepare and distribute an updated course outline specific to the sections taught.
  • Prepares and creates lesson plans, instructional materials, and activities for students.
  • Teaches courses and evaluates student performance.
  • Maintains accurate student records.
  • Submits pertinent data to the department and/or the College.
  • Effective communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Job description

The Science and Technology Department at Finger Lakes Community College is seeking innovative and adaptable educators committed to student engagement, excellence in teaching, and interdisciplinary collaboration. FLCC offers many different course modalities, such as Asynchronous Online, In-person, Hybrid, HyFlex, and Synchronous Online. Adjunct Faculty members may have the opportunity to teach in one or more of these modalities based on training and experience.

Courses May Include, But Are Not Limited To
  • ESC 100 – Introduction to Engineering
  • ESC 105 – Engineering Graphics
