Job summary

Strayer University is seeking a dynamic Adjunct Faculty member to teach graduate-level EDU courses for the upcoming winter quarter, starting 1/4/27. Classes run on an 11-week quarter schedule.

Adjunct Faculty are mentors and coaches who aim to ignite a lifelong love of learning, accommodating diverse learning styles. Applications should include unofficial transcripts for full consideration.

Responsibilities

• Teach courses from a pre-designed curriculum using professional expertise.
• Enhance curriculum with technology and video resources.
• Utilize the online learning platform to support student learning.
• Be available to students via email, phone, text and office hours for timely feedback.
• Set high standards and clarify how students are evaluated.
• Attend faculty meetings and training as required.

We are currently in search of a passionate professor for graduate level EDU class for the upcoming winter quarter, starting 1/4/27. Our classes are on a 11-week quarter schedule.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Teach courses as assigned from a pre-designed curriculum and utilize your professional expertise to provide high-quality instruction.
• Enhance the strength and effectiveness of the curriculum through the use of technology and videos.
• Utilize the online learning platform to enrich the student learning experience.
• Be available to students via email, phone, text, and office hours to ensure students receive quality feedback in a timely manner to support their academic success.
• Establish high standards and ensure students understand how they will be evaluated.
• Adhere to University policies and procedures.
• Attend faculty meetings and workshops or training as required.

Job Skills:

• Effectively communicate with all levels of the University.
• Demonstrated knowledge of academic technology.
• Demonstrated knowledge of academic evaluation.
• Proficiency in oral presentation skills, planning, and organizing of course objectives.
• Must have strong computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage potentially stressful situations in a professional and ethical manner.

Work Experience:

• Teaching experience at the college level and online teaching experience are strongly preferred
• Canvas teaching experience
• Have experience teaching the following:

  • K-12: Curriculum/Design/Dev
  • Public Pol Politic Infl EduI
  • Instructional Methods
  • Design for Personal Learning

Education:

All degrees must be conferred and from an accredited institution to be considered.

Doctorate in Education with coursework/experience in Edtech and Instruction.

Certificates, licenses, and registrations:

Professional certification in discipline specialty (if applicable).

Other:

• No travel.
• Must be able to lift 1 lb.
• Mobility within the office includes movement from floor to floor.
• Access information using a computer.
• Effectively communicate, both up and down the management chain.
• Effectively cope with stressful situations.
• Strong mental acuity.
• Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States.
• Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

$2,300-$2,600 is the expected starting pay per online assignment for this position per quarter and $3,000 is the expected starting pay per on campus assignment for this position per quarter. If your location is near a campus, on campus teaching may be required. Current and future assignments are based on the additional factors outlined below.

Strayer University Adjunct Faculty are compensated based on the number and type of course(s) that are taught in a given quarter. Currently, compensation for courses ranges from $2,300 - $3,100.
