Job Summary

Jax State partners with many high schools in our region to offer college courses through Dual Enrollment on the high school campus and online.

This job posting is for faculty at those partner schools who, working with their principal and Jax State’s Dual Enrollment Coordinator, are seeking adjunct certification in order to teach Dual Enrollment courses on their home campus and/or online. Before applying for this position, these faculty members should first speak with their principal and the Jax State Dual Enrollment Coordinator, Amie Knight. This job posting is also for qualified individuals beyond our partner high schools who are interested in teaching Dual Enrollment courses for Jax State.

Jax State’s Dual Enrollment program seeks adjunct faculty to teach:

  • Art
  • Biology
  • Education
  • English (composition, speech, and American literature)
  • Mathematics
  • Political Science
  • U.S. History
  • And other General Education courses as needed

Through this job posting, the Director and Coordinator of Dual Enrollment, and the appropriate academic Department Head and Faculty Liaison, will assess faculty credentials, including transcripts, coursework, and degrees, as well as other teaching documents and overall preparation for college-level teaching. An interview and classroom observation are required for applicants who advance. Applications are reviewed and advanced on an as-needed basis.

Minimum Qualifications

  • At minimum, an earned master’s degree in a field appropriate to the discipline.
  • At least 18 hours of graduate-level coursework completed in the discipline.
  • Transcripts submitted with the application will be evaluated, and any additional degrees and/or coursework needed will be discussed with the applicant.

Required Application Documents

  • Cover Letter: The Cover Letter must address the applicant’s readiness, preparation, and/or experience teaching college-level General Education courses.
  • CV: The CV must include at least three references, in addition to the principal and guidance counselor, with current email addresses and phone numbers.
  • Teaching Philosophy.
  • Unofficial Transcripts (Official Transcripts required upon hire).
