Job description

Job Description

The School of Medical Imaging and Therapeutics seeks an adjunct faculty member to deliver high-quality learning experiences and education for students in the Diagnostic Medical Sonography - General program. The selected candidate will have responsibilities including teaching in the classroom, lab, and online courses to undergraduate students. Subject matters may include General Sonography lab, Musculoskeletal sonography, or other general sonography topics.

  1. Deliver laboratory instruction in-person in the General Diagnostic Medical Sonography program.
  2. Teach introductory scanning techniques in abdominal and gynecological imaging protocols.
  3. Provide feedback to students on protocols, quizzes, and exams.
  4. Give instructions on the use of the OB/GYN simulator.
  5. Work as a team with colleagues to instruct students and manage lab activities.
  6. Proctor classes, quizzes, and exams.
  7. Participate in open lab sessions, providing instruction and assistance to drop-in students.
  8. Provide students with an approved syllabus including course objectives, learning outcomes, teaching methodology, attendance policies, texts and readings, assignments, timelines, and evaluation criteria.
  9. Create engaging assignments demonstrating real-world applications of concepts.
  10. Utilize the University's learning management system to post materials and communicate with students.
  11. Advise and assist students through office hours, scheduled appointments, videoconference, phone, email, and other approved mechanisms.
  12. Contribute to student mentoring, course development, and assessment.
  13. Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Current ARDMS credentials in both Abdomen and OB/GYN.
  • Minimum of 5 years of work experience in General sonography.
  • Teaching experience in a CAAHEP-accredited program preferred.
  • Commitment to undergraduate, graduate, and/or professional education and student success.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and interact effectively with students, faculty, administration, alumni, and healthcare professionals.
