Full-time Faculty Positions

Full-time faculty positions will be posted on a per-opening basis. Postings are organized by college/school and department. Applicants will be evaluated at the college/school level for the position which they are submitting an application. Unless noted by a close date, positions will remain open until they are filled. Qualified applicants are encouraged to apply.

Part-time Faculty Positions

DePaul University invites expressions of interest for a pool of qualified Part Time Faculty to teach courses in a variety of disciplines across all 10 colleges and schools. Individuals may enter expressions of interest by submitting their credentials to any posting for which they are qualified to teach. Postings are organized by college/school and department. Screening of individuals in the pool is ongoing, depending on curricular need and funding. Individuals will be contacted by the department if they reach the finalist stage for teaching a particular course or set of courses. The pool will remain in place until the closing date specified in the posting details; those interested in remaining in the pool beyond that time must resubmit. All individuals in the pool will be notified by email when the posting is closed.

Responsibilities

The Department of Teacher Education, Kinesiology, and Educational Studies (TEKES), in the College of Education, invites expressions of interest for part-time faculty teaching opportunities in the Kinesiology program for the 2024-2025 Academic Year. The Kinesiology program includes majors in Physical Education and Exercise Science. Part-time teaching positions are available throughout the academic year, including summer sessions. Applicants with expertise matching course scheduling needs will be contacted for an interview. Course schedules vary each quarter, and selected individuals will work with department faculty to determine a quarterly schedule. Courses are not guaranteed; however, the department strives to provide ample notice of available courses and potential cancellations.

The Physical Education and Kinesiology Program seeks applicants with expertise and experience in:

  • Exercise Science
  • Health and Exercise Nutrition
  • Physical Education
  • Sports and Fitness Management, Leadership, or Law

The supplemental questions pertain to applicants' expertise in these areas.

Required Qualifications
  • Master's degree required; some courses may require a Doctorate degree.
  • Demonstrated experience working and teaching in diverse learning environments.
  • Expertise in activity courses relevant to the area of the course.
Special Instructions to Applicants

Considerations include courses with unique credit hours, supervision, labs, clinical/practicum courses, coaching, administrative tasks, and courses with varying enrollment levels.

DePaul University provides a compensation range reflecting its good faith estimate. The salary offered will depend on qualifications, experience, responsibilities, departmental budget, internal salary equity, and market factors.

Academic Calendar

DePaul operates on a quarter system (except College of Law on a semester system). Classes are 11 weeks in Fall, Winter, Spring, and 5-week summer sessions. The College of Law's classes are 16 weeks in Fall and Spring, with a 7-week summer session.
