The Department of Speech, Language, and Communication Sciences (SLCS) at Xavier University invites applications for Adjunct Instructors beginning immediately. We seek a collaborative educator who is excited to contribute to a new academic program and whose teaching and clinical expertise will strengthen the Department's undergraduate curriculum in speech-language pathology.SLCS currently offers an undergraduate program in speech, language, and communication sciences, with a graduate program in speech-language pathology planned to launch in 2031. Xavier Health prepares servant-leaders through real-world experiences and Jesuit Catholic formation that puts the whole person at the center of care.**The successful candidate will:*** Teach undergraduate courses in speech-language pathology, and later, graduate-level curriculum as the Department's graduate program develops toward its planned 2031 launch;* Supervise students in clinical and practicum experiences as part of SLCS's experiential learning sequence;* Advise and mentor undergraduate (and, in time, graduate) students.**Required Qualifications*** A masters, clinical doctorate, or Ph.D. in Speech-Language Pathology, Communication Sciences and Disorders, or a closely related field.* A Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).* Effective written and oral communication skills.* A commitment to student advising and mentoring.* A commitment to the missions of the Department of Speech, Language, and Communication Sciences and Xavier University, including Xavier's Jesuit Catholic educational tradition.**Preferred Qualifications*** Experience supervising students in a clinical, practicum, or clinical fellowship (CFY) setting (any one of these is sufficient).* Evidence of effective college- or university-level teaching or demonstrated potential for teaching excellence.* We welcome applicants with clinical and research interests across all areas of speech-language pathology.* Experience teaching undergraduate courses in speech-language pathology or communication sciences and disorders.Review of applications is ongoing, based on timing and semester-to-semester needs.To receive full consideration, applicants should submit: (1) a letter of interest; (2) a curriculum vitae; (3) evidence of teaching effectiveness, such as student or peer evaluations, if available, combined into a single file; and (4) the names and contact information of three professional references.
