Job summary

Broward College invites applications for a part-time dentistry teaching position in sunny South Florida. The role requires a Doctorate Degree in Dentistry (DMD or DDS) from a U.S.

dental school and an active U.S. dental license (Florida preferred).

Qualifications

  • Doctorate in Dentistry (DMD or DDS) is required and must be from a U.S. dental school.
  • Active dental license issued in the United States (Florida preferred).
  • Two years of clinical experience preferred; prior college teaching experience is preferred.

Job Description Summary

Minimum Education

Doctorate Degree in Dentistry (DMD or DDS) required. Graduated from a Dental School within the United States

Minimum Certification

Active Dental License issued within the United States (within the State of Florida preferred)

Minimum Experience/Training

Two years of clinical experience preferred. Prior college teaching experience is preferred. Willingness to complete teaching methodology training. The successful candidate must have a high level of computer literacy and a commitment to teaching. All schedules require office hours, and some may require evening and/or weekend hours

  • Have a willingness to examine and adapt one’s instructional, relational, and classroom practices to more effectively engage and support students
  • Engage in student consultation, course preparation, review of course outlines, and preparation of course syllabi
  • Provide prompt and constructive support to students through regular office hours and timely feedback on assessments and activities
  • Provide prompt feedback to student emails
  • Adhere to all reporting deadlines such as grade processing, enrollment verification, syllabus submission, and textbook adoption
  • Participate in service to the college and its community
