Job summary

College of DuPage is seeking adjunct faculty to teach Dental Hygiene with a flexible schedule that may include days, evenings, and weekends. Instructors plan courses for classroom, lab, or clinical settings and may teach in face-to-face, online, hybrid, or blended formats.

Candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree in the field and an associate’s for lab/clinic, with at least 3 years of clinical dental hygiene experience. A Illinois license and BLS CPR are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in the field is required.
• Associate’s degree in applied sciences/dental hygiene required for lab/clinic.
• Graduate from an accredited dental hygiene program.
• Minimum 3 years clinical dental hygiene experience.
• Current Illinois dental hygiene license and BLS CPR required.
• Ability to teach remotely with technology; access to home tech.

Responsibilities

Adjunct Faculty, Dental Hygiene - SP27

College of DuPage believes in the power of teaching and learning. We seek adjunct faculty members to teach Dental Hygiene.

The successful adjunct candidate will be committed to teaching in a multicultural environment and welcome the opportunity to work with students with diverse learning abilities. Opportunities may exist to teach a flexible schedule that may include teaching assignments during days, evenings and weekends.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Adjunct Faculty instructors at College of DuPage are responsible for course planning and instruction in classroom, lab, or clinical settings, courses may be conducted in various delivery modes, such as, face-to-face, on-line, hybrid and/or blended formats. In addition, adjunct faculty are responsible for student evaluation, and timely and accurate submission of required paperwork related to instruction.

Required Qualifications:

Education

• Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in the field and/or a combination of education, training and tested experience required for didactic courses.
• Minimum of an associate’sdegree in applied sciences/ dental hygiene required for lab and cliniccourses.
• Graduated from an accredited dental hygiene program.
• Course work completion in educational methodologies.

Experience

• Experience in teaching dental assistant or dentalhygiene students.
• Minimum 3 years clinical dental hygiene experience.

Licenses and Certifications

• Current dental hygiene license in the State ofIllinois.
• Current Basic Life Support(BLS) CPR intended for healthcare providers.

Ability to teach remotely with technology and experience in online or virtual teaching preferred. Access to personal technology, home computer with appropriate ability to teach online required.

These positions are paid by stipends for course assignments.
