Job summary

Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana—Bloomington campus—is seeking part-time adjunct instructors to teach Data Analytics courses for the School of IT starting in the upcoming Spring semester.

Specifically, applicants are sought to teach DBMS 110 - Intro to Data Analytics (Mon/Wed 6pm-8pm, March start) and AIIT 110 - AI Essentials (Tue/Thu 10am-12pm, January start). Adjuncts may teach 1–13 contact hours per week and earn $46.75 per contact hour.

Qualifications

  • To teach Data Analytics applicants must possess an earned bachelor's degree, from a regionally accredited institution, in information technology or related field as appropriate to the program, with documentation in two or more of the following: Professional certification (national, regional, or state) in the field
  • Two years of in-field professional employment
  • Documented evidence of information technology teaching excellence, including date of award
  • Documentation of research and publication in the field
  • Documentation of relevant additional coursework beyond the bachelor's degree, equivalent to 18 semester hours or equivalent subject matter coursework, CEU's, vendor, or military.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitates student learning by delivering assigned classes in accordance with College policy and course objectives.
  • Makes optimal use of available technology to enhance instructional methods.
  • Develops/maintains course outlines, syllabi, lesson plans, assignments, tests, and materials.
  • Maintains accurate student records, grades, and other requirements.
  • Engages with students in meaningful and productive ways that impact student learning and leads to a positive experience with Ivy Tech Community College, shows evidence of developing and implementing active classroom teaching strategies focused on engaging students with their learning (curricular).
  • Interacts with students and co-workers in a professional and cooperative manner, complies with College policies, campus guidelines and expectations.
  • Ensures knowledge of and implements emergency and safety procedures for classrooms, labs and all learning environments.
  • All responsibilities will be conducted within the parameters of FERPA, other applicable regulatory requirements, and professional standards.
  • Conducts all activities with an appreciation, respect, and promotion of diversity of people, styles, and views.

Education

Bachelor's degree in information technology or related field
Two years of in-field professional employment
Documented evidence of information technology teaching excellence

Job description

Ivy Tech Bloomington campus is searching for part time adjunct instructors to teach Data Analytics(Data Science / AI) courses for the School of IT starting this upcoming Spring semester.

Specifically looking for individuals who could teach: DBMS 110 - Intro to Data Analytics - Monday/Wednesday 6pm-8pm - March start AIIT 110 - AI Essentials - Tuesday/Thursday 10am-12pm - January start

Adjuncts can teach between 1-13 contact hours per week and make $46.75 per contact hour. Interviews will happen on a rolling basis until filled.

Adjunct Faculty are hired each semester on an as-needed basis.

Adjunct Faculty are responsible for creating a learning environment that assists students in reaching their goals; and for providing effective instruction and assessment within the framework of common syllabi provided.

Major Responsibilities:

Minimum Qualifications:
