Job summary

South Louisiana Community College (SLCC) seeks an adjunct instructor for its Corporate College to provide and support classroom instruction. The role includes maintaining a safe lab area and developing industry relations through visits and advisory meetings.

Qualifications

• Certifications relative to the field of instruction.
• Minimum of 5 years industry experience.
• Passing pre-employment criminal background and drug screen required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain classroom hours as listed on the course syllabus.
• Prepare and provide course syllabi and instructional materials.
• Evaluate and review students’ progress.
• Keep records of testing and grading per college standards.
• Utilize technology to access data and generate reports.
• Maintain student discipline in the classroom.
• Attain and review program certification requirements.
• Fulfill professional assignments per the SLCC calendar and contracts.
• Partner with Business and Industry to promote the program.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide and support classroom instruction for SLCC’s Corporate College.
• Maintain a safe, orderly and up-to-date lab area for the application of multiple labs (if applicable).
• Develop and maintain professional relations with the industry through industry visits and advisory committee meetings.
• Maintain classroom hours as listed on the course syllabus.
• Prepare and provide course syllabi and instructional materials to students.
• Evaluate and review students’ progress in attaining goals and objectives.
• Keep appropriate records of testing and grading, as per college standards.
• Utilize technology to access data, maintain records, generate reports, communicate with others and facilitate learning.
• Maintain student discipline through effective classroom management.
• Attain, maintain and review program certification requirements, as appropriate.
• Fulfill professional assignments in accordance with the South Louisiana Community College calendar and contractual obligations.
• Partner with Business and Industry to promote program.

Required Education:
