The School of Professional Studies is seeking an adjunct instructor to enhance the course content and teach Chemical Principles I for the undergraduate certificate in introductory life sciences. The course will be offered in an online, synchronous, semester-based format geared toward part-time, adult undergraduate students. This course will cover foundational topics from basic math and measurement to atomic theory and stoichiometry, will delve into the properties of gases, solutions, and periodic trends, while also introducing energy concepts and equilibrium. This course is part of the introductory life sciences certificate program designed to prepare students with the foundational knowledge and skills integral to building a successful career in the biopharmaceutical industry.
The instructor will add their subject matter expertise and real-world examples, partnering with MCPHS leaders to ensure content is relevant to employers. As part of the course development process, the instructor will partner with a project manager and instructional design manager. The instructor will play an important role in the continuous improvement and overall success of the course. This role is crucial in establishing the foundation of our new certificate program, directly impacting its quality and future success. The instructor will help shape the learning experience for our students and will contribute to the growth of this exciting new academic offering.
