Adjunct Faculty - Auto Mechanics Instructor

Position Overview

Black Hawk College is seeking an Adjunct Faculty/Part-time Instructor in Auto Mechanics at the East Campus in Galva, IL. Review of applications will begin immediately.

Responsibilities
  1. Prepare syllabi and develop lectures, discussions, and activities to enhance student learning.
  2. Develop and implement methods for evaluating student performance.
  3. Maintain and secure equipment and instructional materials necessary for classroom presentation.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology with coursework in auto mechanics, or a minimum of five years of work experience in auto mechanics.
  • At least two years of work experience in auto mechanics.
  • Previous teaching experience at the community college level is preferred.
  • Demonstrated oral English proficiency for classroom instruction.

Compensation

Pay is based on education and experience, with minimum starting rates as of Fall 2024:

  • Less Than a Master's Degree = $693.36 per hour
  • Master's Degree = $808.92 per hour
  • Doctorate = $866.70 per hour
