Job summary

Virginia Commonwealth University is seeking applicants to join an adjunct pool within the Department of Accounting, School of Business. The pool is for ongoing openings and will be accessed only when a vacancy arises.

Applicants must already be in the pool to be considered. The role offers a hybrid working arrangement with teaching responsibilities across the accounting discipline, including financial, managerial, auditing, taxation, and information systems courses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree is required for adjunct applicants.
• Master's Degree or comparable experience preferred for licenced accounting professionals.

Responsibilities

• Teach accounting courses as needed across areas including financial, managerial, auditing, taxation, and information systems.
• Meet all designated course instruction guidelines.
• Grade assignments and exams in a timely manner based on rubrics.
• Respond to student inquiries within 24 hours.
• Submit final grades according to School policy.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Teaching courses in accounting as needed. These classes couldbe inclusive of all areas within the discipline; including (but notlimited to), financial, managerial, auditing, taxation andaccounting information systems.
• Meet all designated course instruction guidelines
• Grade assignments and exams in a timely manner based oninstructions/rubric provided
• Respond to student inquiries within 24 hours
• Submit final grades according to School policy

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree
• Demonstrated experience working in and fostering an environmentof respect, professionalism and civility with a population offaculty, staff, and students from various backgrounds andexperiences, or a commitment to do so as an employee at VCU.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's Degree or comparable work experience as a licensedaccounting professional
