Qualifications

  • Possesses an earned master’s degree or higher in accounting from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Earned related or out-of-field master’s degree with 18 post-secondary semester hours in accounting beyond the introductory principle(s) level.
  • Earned related or out-of-field master’s degree with two or more of: CPA, teaching excellence, research and publication, additional coursework (18 hours) or CEU’s.
  • Earned bachelor’s degree in accounting with two years in-field employment or equivalent.
  • Earned bachelor’s degree in a related field with CPA certification active.
  • Active CPA certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver classes in accordance with College policy and course objectives.
  • Make optimal use of technology to enhance instructional methods.
  • Supplement and alter lesson plans, assignments, tests, and materials as appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate student records, grades and other requirements.
  • Engage with students regularly in meaningful and productive ways to impact learning.
  • Promote an environment that respects diverse backgrounds and complies with FERPA and college policies.

Adjunct Faculty are responsible for creating a learning environment that assists students in reaching their goals; and for providing effective instruction and assessment within the framework of common syllabi provided.MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:Facilitate student learning by delivering assigned classes in accordance with College policy and course objectives.Make optimal use of available technology to enhance instructional methods.Supplement and alter, where appropriate, lesson plans, assignments, tests, and materials. Maintain accurate student records, grades, and other requirements.Engage with students proactively and regularly in meaningful and productive ways that impact student learning and lead to a positive experience with Ivy Tech Community College.Demonstrate evidence of developing and implementing teaching strategies focused on engaging students with their learning.Interact with students and co-workers in a professional and cooperative manner, complying with College policies, guidelines and expectations.Maintain a safe, quality educational environment.Must demonstrate the ability to promote an environment that reflects the broad backgrounds represented by our students and employees in which every individual feels respected and valued.This is not to be construed as an exhaustive list.
