Job Description Summary
Responsible for preparing and delivering coursework in engaging, innovative, and discipline‑appropriate ways.
Principal Responsibilities and Duties
- Prepare and teach accounting courses to a multicultural student population based on department‑approved learning outcomes.
- Evaluate student progress and provide timely feedback reflecting program learning outcomes.
- Provide teaching and mentoring services in a non‑discriminatory manner.
- Remain current in the field through professional development activities.
- Perform other related tasks as assigned by department chair, dean, or vice chancellor.
Technology
- Demonstrated proficiency with computer applications, online resources, and instructional technologies.
- Proficient in an online learning management system such as Blackboard for building course content and administrative duties.
Principal Professional Standards
- Meet deadlines for attendance certification and final grade submission.
- Maintain regular office hours to assist students.
- Demonstrate civility and collegiality in all interactions.
- Comply with university policies and professional teaching standards.
- Use the learning management system appropriately.
Required Education
- Master’s degree in Accounting, or a Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate hours in accounting.
- Alternatively, Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or Master’s degree with 18 graduate hours in accounting, or Associate degree in Accounting with 3 years non‑teaching work experience.
Required Work Experience
- At least three years of non‑teaching accounting work experience.
Working Conditions
- Work performed in an office/classroom environment.
- Requires standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, kneeling, pushing, and pulling.
- Ability to lift up to 10 pounds.
- Follow safety rules and report unsafe conditions.
