Job description

Qualifications

Portfolio Development serves as the capstone activity for the Master of Arts degree in Kinesiology. Through this course, students will be able to feature professional and academic work, refine their personal brand, and share evidence of core competencies in order to better prepare for post-graduate success. The student will integrate applicable knowledge from both the core Graduate Kinesiology courses as well as elective courses into the final portfolio.

This course will be taught in a hybrid format during the 2026 Fall term. The time will be agreed upon with the instructor.

In addition to teaching, the instructor is expected to hold regular office hours (a minimum of one hour per week) in order to provide students with support outside of the classroom.

The successful candidate will hold a terminal degree in Kinesiology or a closely related field and have a recent publication record in the field, or a Master’s degree in Kinesiology or a closely related field and have at least five years of current, relevant professional experience. Demonstrated teaching effectiveness at the graduate level as evidenced by recent course evaluations is strongly preferred. Candidates should be comfortable supporting and working in a multi-cultural environment. Preference will be given to those who have taught the course.

Candidates must reside in California.

The salary range for this position is $2,482 - $3,436 (1 unit) and is covered by the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the College and SEIU, Local 1021, available here .
