Position Summary

The Department of History at SUNY Cortland is accepting applications to fill part-time adjunct faculty openings for the 2026-2027 academic year. This is a pool posting and applicants will be reviewed only when there is a need to fill a position.

Major Responsibilities

A classroom‑based 3 credit hour course pays $5500 per class. The department typically hires for the courses and subject areas below; this list is not exhaustive. Other courses may become available.

  • Undergraduate and graduate classes in history and adolescent education – social studies.
Functional and Supervisory Relationships

Reports to the chair of the History Department.

Required Qualifications

Master’s Degree in history and/or experience teaching adolescent social studies as appropriate to the course(s) to be taught.
