Job summary

University of West Alabama seeks an Elementary Education Adjunct Instructor to teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses on a part-time, term-by-term basis. The instructor will prepare teacher candidates to design and implement evidence-based instruction for K–6 learners.

Responsibilities include delivering course content, assessing student performance, and maintaining high standards. Courses may be offered face-to-face, hybrid, synchronous online, or asynchronous online, depending on needs.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Elementary Education or closely related field from an accredited institution.
• Five years of elementary teaching experience (K–6).
• Ability to teach using Blackboard Ultra or another LMS.

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned undergraduate and/or graduate elementary education courses.
• Prepare teacher candidates to implement evidence-based instructional practices.
• Integrate state standards and current research into courses.
• Develop/update syllabi, assignments, and assessments.
• Deliver instruction face-to-face, hybrid, or online as assigned.
• Evaluate student performance and provide timely feedback.
• Maintain accurate attendance and grade records.
• Communicate course expectations and progress to students.
• Maintain office hours and be available to students.
