Job summary

Saint Joseph’s University is seeking a part-time adjunct for economics courses to teach ECN101 – Introduction to Microeconomics and ECN102 – Introduction to Macroeconomics on the Hawk Hill campus in Philadelphia. Courses are in-person, with 1–2 courses per semester as needed.

Applicants must have a Master’s in Economics and teaching experience in ECN101/ECN102; ABD/PhD is preferred. Teaching duties include developing syllabi, using LMS, and coordinating with the department chair for consistency

Saint Joseph’s University’s Department of Economics has an ongoing need for highly qualified adjunct faculty to staff a variety of courses each semester. We are looking for the support of highly qualified, capable, and experienced adjunct instructors able to teach in-person courses on our Hawk Hill campus.

SJU appoints part-time, non-tenure track adjunct instructors on a semester-to-semester basis with no guarantee of consecutive appointments. Re-appointment is based on university need, student enrollment, and satisfactory performance. Applicants for these positions are screened on an as-needed basis throughout the academic year. Teaching responsibilities are assigned by the department chair. Compensation for adjunct instructors is commensurate with educational credentials, professional, experience and instructional background. Adjunct instructors are bound to the terms and conditions of employment at Saint Joseph’s University, including but not limited to the Faculty Handbook. Minimum Qualifications:

Required

• Master’s Degree in Economics or a closely related field and previous teaching experience of ECN101 and/or ECN102

Preferred

• Preference will be given to candidates who have an ABD or PhD in economics, previous teaching experience, and a willingness to be flexible in class scheduling.
