Job summary

Lone Star College-Creekside Center in The Woodlands, TX, invites applications for adjunct faculty to teach Developmental English on a part-time basis. Courses are offered day, evening and weekend at various times and locations, with instructors potentially teaching up to five courses per academic year.

Responsibilities include delivering engaging lessons, following syllabi, meeting with students, evaluating progress, and maintaining professional relationships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with a major in English, literature, or related field or Master’s degree in English or related field.
• Experience teaching English, literature, or writing preferred.
• Ability to teach across multiple times and locations (day, evening, weekend).

Responsibilities

• Teaches Developmental English courses at a variety of times and locations.
• Creates engaging lessons that promote student involvement and application of the material.
• Submits required college reports and forms in a timely manner.
• Uses a course syllabus and follows institutional guidelines.
• Meets with and advises students before/after class or by appointment.
• Evaluates students and informs them of progress.
• Maintains professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the community.
• Attends trainings and orientations; performs other duties as assigned.
