Macomb Community College invites applications for Adjunct Faculty in the Health and Human Services – Dental Hygiene Program. The role involves teaching in clinic and lab, developing curricula, and ensuring accreditation support across modalities including on campus, online, remote, hybrid, and flexible learning.

Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree or higher in dental hygiene or related field, and hold a Michigan RDH license with Local Anesthesia and Nitrous Oxide certs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in dental hygiene, allied health, healthcare education, or related field.
• Current Michigan license as a Registered Dental Hygienist.
• Current Local Anesthesia and Nitrous Oxide certification.

Responsibilities

• Teach in the clinic and the lab in alignment with department objectives and outcomes.
• Teach predefined subject matter as assigned by the department.
• Maintain course materials in the College’s LMS (announcements, syllabus, gradebook).
• Keep gradebook up to date and submit final grades by deadlines.
• Assist in meeting accreditation standards with department and Learning Unit.
• Facilitate student clinical and/or lab experiences as assigned.
• Participate in course assessments to measure student learning outcomes.
• Complete training for instructional modalities as required.
• Maintain faculty credentials as required by accrediting agencies.
• Attend Faculty Development Days as scheduled and applicable.
• Participate in Learning Unit committees as scheduled.
• Create course curriculum and assessments; refine as industry dictates.
• Teach Dental Hygiene courses as assigned.
• Ensure timely completion of grades and classroom paperwork.
• Be reliable, professional, and efficient with schedule and teaching assignments.
• Promote and support student success.
• Other duties as assigned per the collective bargaining agreement.
