The Counseling & Career Development Center is seeking an adjunct/part-time Counselor to provide individual and group counseling, intervene with academically at‑risk students, consult with faculty and staff regarding student concerns, attend to students in crisis, assist with financial emergencies, facilitate workshops and seminars, and support departmental programming to promote the academic, career, and personal growth of Moraine Valley students.
Minimum of a Master’s degree in Counseling, Clinical Psychology, Social Work, or a related mental health field with experience, training, and knowledge in individual/group counseling and assessment related to the academic, career, and personal development of college students.
Applicants must possess an active LPC, LCPC, LSW, or LCSW license that is valid in the state of Illinois.
The position requires a strong commitment to promoting student learning, development, and success through holistic counseling services. Applicants should have academic training and/or experience with counseling multicultural and linguistically diverse students. Individuals with fluency in more than one language are encouraged to apply. A passion for supporting the academic success of students is highly desired.
Part Time
Up to 27 hours per week. The role requires working until closing on at least one day per week, preferably Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. General hours: Center is open from 8:30 am–6:00 pm Monday and Tuesday, and 8:30 am–5:00 pm Wednesday through Friday. Hours vary during the summer, peak times, and break periods.
