Civil Engineering

Adjunct Faculty Pool | John R. Post School of Engineering | Reading, Pennsylvania

The John R. Post School of Engineering at Alvernia University invites applications to its adjunct faculty pool in Civil Engineering. We seek professionals to teach both lecture and laboratory courses in person in Reading, Pennsylvania. Most engineering courses are taught at the John R. Post Center, 401 Penn Street, Reading, PA, with some activities potentially using other Alvernia Reading locations. Applicants must be available for weekday daytime teaching, primarily between 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. This daytime availability is an important requirement for these in-person positions. Lecture courses typically meet on multiple days each week, so applicants must be able to commit to a recurring weekday schedule for the full semester. Remote or hybrid teaching is not available for these pools. Hired candidates join the adjunct pool and may receive separate contracts for individual courses as needs arise. Pool appointment does not guarantee a course assignment.
