Job summary

Brigham Young University is seeking an adjunct instructor for CCE 306: Civil Engineering Materials, covering concrete, masonry, and asphalt. The position requires a Master’s degree (or PhD) in Civil/Structural/Materials Engineering and at least 5 years of relevant experience.

Relocation to Utah is expected for the duration of employment. Teaching will be in-person with lectures twice weekly and a weekly lab block.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree (or PhD) in Civil, Structural, or Materials Engineering, or a related field required.
• A minimum of 5 years of professional engineering or construction materials experience; PE license preferred.
• Adjunct faculty duties include in-person lectures and weekly lab block; no research obligations.

Responsibilities

• Teach CCE 306: Civil Engineering Materials: Concrete, Masonry, and Asphalt (Winter2027, 1st Block); in-person lectures and weekly labs.
• Instruct students in person during designated class and lab times.
• Provide office consultations and student mentoring (≈2 hrs per week).
• Prepare course materials (lectures, homework, lab exercises).
• Evaluate student work and lab reports; write and administer exams.
