Job summary

College of St. Scholastica, Inc. invites applications for an adjunct chemistry lab instructor at the Duluth, MN campus.

The successful candidate will teach introductory chemistry labs (General Chemistry 1, General Chemistry 2, and/or General, Organic, and Biochemistry for Health Science Majors). Lab sections are 2 hours each and scheduled on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with 1–3 sections possible per term based on enrollment.

Qualifications

• PhD or Masters degree in chemistry or a closely-related field.
• Ability to teach in person on the Duluth campus on Tuesdays and/or Thursdays.
• Knowledge of basic laboratory safety protocols and completion of an online safety module.
• Ability to guide introductory chemistry students through lab activities within the weekly time allotment.

Responsibilities

• Teach introductory chemistry labs (General Chemistry 1 & 2 and/or CHM 1040).
• Lab sections are 2 hours each, taught on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
• Engage with full-time faculty on curriculum development if interested.
• Demonstrate excellence in teaching and contribute to departmental activities.
