Located in Greater Boston, MassBay is a comprehensive, open‑access community college, offering associate degrees and certificate programs on three campuses in Wellesley Hills, Framingham, and Ashland, Massachusetts.
The ideal candidate will join a vibrant educational community and have a desire and ability to serve a population of students with various needs and backgrounds.
The candidate is expected to commit to excellence in teaching and learning, collaboration and professional development. Adjunct faculty are expected to deliver course materials in a learner‑centered environment conducive to engaging students in the learning process. The faculty member in this position communicates consistently and effectively with students, faculty and administrators, and responds to communications within a 24‑hour period. The faculty is responsible for managing this course through timely grading of assignments, providing substantial student feedback with assignments, and submission of clinical evaluations, attendance and grades.
Massachusetts Bay Community College invites applications for an adjunct faculty position in chemistry from qualified applicants to teach both in‑person and online laboratory science courses in chemistry. Responsibilities will include developing and teaching typical courses in undergraduate chemistry. They will also demonstrate an ability to engage, mentor, and work with diverse student populations. They will be comfortable offering hands‑on laboratory courses by implementing active‑learning strategies using current computer technologies, software, and tools. The candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and learning, collaboration and professional development.
