Job Description Summary

Under general supervision, the Adjunct Assistant Professor will develop, prepare, and teach a variety of coursework in statistics. The Adjunct Assistant Professor must have the flexibility to teach courses during the day, evening, or online, as well as taught using other distance learning formats. Part‑time instructional service will be paid at a rate of $846 per semester credit hour and $33.84 per clock/contact hour.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and deliver instruction to didactic, laboratory and/or classroom settings to promote student success within a community college setting.
• Support and promote the college and departmental missions centered on excellence in teaching and learning through quality instruction, curriculum enhancement, and timely service.
• Collaborate with the Chair, faculty, and peers to evaluate, revise, and develop curriculum that cultivates mastery of course content.
• Demonstrate technological literacy and innovation in the delivery of instruction.
• Work collaboratively as part of a cohesive academic team.
• Assist with the implementation of college policies, objectives, and functions in accordance with the SF philosophy, mission, strategic initiatives, and procedures.
• Participate in departmental meetings and college‑wide committees as needed.
• Provide students with frequent, timely assessment and clear feedback regarding academic performance.
• Appropriately document student progress and maintain records including attendance, grading, and student learning outcomes.
• Develop methods that fairly and accurately assess students’ progress in achieving the stated learning outcomes/objectives.
• Maintain appropriate office hours proportionate to the instructional assignment.
• Strictly honor the privacy and security of student records and other sensitive information according to appropriate state, federal and college regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Comply with all published College rules, procedures, guidelines, and laws/regulations governing public employees, including those related to document retention and destruction, FERPA, and confidentiality.
• Provide service excellence through courteous, informed, accessible, and professional engagement.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• A master’s degree or a master’s degree with at least 18 graduate semester hours in mathematics, statistics, or mathematical physics.
• Relevant teaching experience within a community college setting (preferred).
• Criminal background check will be conducted.
