Job description

Job Title: Lecturer/Adjunct Faculty in Epidemiology

The Institute of Human Nutrition is seeking a Lecturer/Adjunct Faculty to teach a three-credit epidemiology course in the fall term of 2025. The position involves:

  • Three hours of in-person teaching per week
  • One office hour per week
  • Participation in standard faculty responsibilities throughout the year
Responsibilities
  1. Academic Responsibilities
    • Serve as Course Director for Epidemiology for Nutritionists in Fall 2025
    • Attend all MS Faculty Meetings (monthly), MS Orientation, Program Activities, Seminars, and Class Day
    • Hold weekly office hours and review sessions as needed
  2. Service
    • Participate in university and public service activities, including departmental and medical school committees
    • Advise MS students as needed
    • Supervise MS thesis students, especially those switching to literature review-based theses
    • Assist colleagues at CUIMC with study design and methods
  3. Communication
    • Respond promptly to all MS program and IHN requests via email, including syllabus deadlines, grade submissions, and student inquiries
  4. MS Program/IHN Responsibilities
    • Collaborate with the Center for Teaching and Learning to adopt best teaching practices
    • Work with faculty to identify emerging topics in nutrition for courses and seminars
    • Attend IHN Faculty Meetings, Seminars, and Retreats
    • Participate in IHN CME development and teaching as requested
  5. Scholarly Activity
    • Engage in educational scholarship as requested
