Lenoir Community College invites applications for an Adjunct Art Instructor to provide quality instruction in Associate in Fine Arts-Visual Arts, using seated, online, and lab formats.

The role requires a Master’s degree in art or equivalent, with experience in teaching at the college level and a willingness to engage students across multiple modalities. Focus on lab-based learning, student outcomes, and curriculum development is essential.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in art from an institution accredited by a federally recognized accreditor.
• Or a master’s degree and 18 graduate semester hours in art (courses designated as graduate-level art courses).

Responsibilities

• Direct students in laboratory classes; train and supervise activities of students in lab settings.
• Showcase student/faculty art on campus and at community art exhibitions.
• Ensure the art lab and curriculum spaces are tidy, organized, and presentable as a visible art space.
• Ensure that equipment, materials, and other resources such as instructional aids are available for classes.
• Take a lead role in maintaining lab art equipment; perform simple maintenance if needed.
• Arrange for equipment repairs when machines break down.
• Plan, implement, and evaluate course-specific instruction.
• Coordinate and supervise curriculum development by designing, planning, organizing, and evaluating the assigned program of study.
• Serve as a resource for student resolutions.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate curriculum.
