Job Description
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Instructor must hold a diploma in surgical technology or health related field.
  • Additionally, must be credentialed in Surgical Technology by a credentialing organization accredited by the National commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA).
  • Must have at least 3 years’ experience in-field.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Instructor who has obtained a master’s degree in healthcare science or related field.
  • In addition, must be certified through a national credentialing organization that is accredited by the National Commission on Certifying Agencies (NCCA).
  • Minimum of 1 year of current operating room experience.
  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST).
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • This individual will be responsible for fulfilling both teaching and non-teaching activities.
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours and work well in the classroom and clinical settings.
  • Under general supervision, the individual will prepare lesson plans to achieve program goals and objectives that adhere to state and institutional standards as well as accrediting agency requirements.
  • Evaluates students' progress in attaining goals and objectives prescribed in curriculum.
  • Requests and maintains supplies and equipment.
  • Maintains program certification requirements, as appropriate.
  • Prepares and maintains all required documentation and administrative reports related to accreditation and state licensing management.
  • Ensures safety and security requirements are met in the training area.
  • Meets with students, staff members, and other educators to discuss students' instructional programs and other issues.

SALARY

Hourly rate is commensurate with education and work experience. This is a part-time position and does not include insurance benefits; work hours will not exceed 29 hours per week.
