Job summary

The Department of Chemistry in the College of Humanities and Sciences at Virginia Commonwealth University is recruiting a pool of adjunct faculty for the 2025-2026 academic year.

This pool will be utilized on an as-needed basis; applications remain active for a year and may be resubmitted for subsequent years.

Duties include teaching lecture, recitation and laboratory sessions, grading, and responding to student inquiries in a timely manner.

Qualifications

• Terminal degree in Chemistry or a related field.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

• Terminal degree in Chemistry or related field.
• Demonstrated experience and flexibility working in andfostering an environment of respect, professionalism, and civilitywith a population of faculty, staff, and students from variousbackgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as a facultymember of VCU.

Preferred Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience teaching Chemistry.
• Ph.D. in Chemistry or related field
• Previous experience teaching Chemistry courses at VCU.

Salary Range:

$1,437 per credit hour
