The selected candidate must reside within the Seattle, WA or Portland, OR area and be able to travel up to 75% within the assigned territory. Bona will consider candidates who do not currently reside within the assigned territory as long as they are willing to relocate prior to their start date. We are not currently offering any relocation packages or assistance for this role.

POSITION PURPOSE

The Adhesives Territory Manager is responsible for managing an assigned territory and developing incremental, profitable sales growth through effective selling and building relationships with professional hardwood flooring distributors, flooring retailers, builders, architects, designers, and contractors within the assigned territory. Responsibilities will specifically be focused on increasing sales for Bona’s Adhesive Product. This individual will be responsible for facilitating joint sales calls with the distributor sales representatives and flooring retailers. This individual will also be responsible for distribution demonstration days and attending regional trade shows to further educate current and prospective customers. This Adhesives Territory Manager works closely and effectively communicates with sales management, marketing, and account services on a timely basis and contributes to a positive team atmosphere.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years of experience in hardwood flooring sales, installation, maintenance, technical support and/or product management
  • Must demonstrate self-motivation, enthusiasm, organizational skills, and be goal oriented
  • Must demonstrate effective verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Must be able to travel 2-3 days per week

JOB DUTIES:

  • Actively manage distribution relationships for the adhesive’s product category within an assigned territory.
  • Develop an adhesives business plan that includes product positioning, current offerings of adhesives, and overview of the adhesives market for wood flooring.
  • Train and educate distribution personnel, retailers, architects, designers, builders, and contractors on Bona adhesive products.
  • Effectively communicate procedures, policy, and promotions on a timely basis to distribution.
  • Increase incremental sales growth within the product category by working with all levels of distribution and meet targeted activity quotas to reach within their assigned territory.
  • Effectively communicate sales activities, both verbally and via monthly written reports, with sales, account services and product management on a timely basis.
  • Support industry and company related events and activities, including but not limited to trade shows, training schools, and regional training center activities.
  • Develop mutually beneficial, respectful, and effective relationships with peers to ensure seamless coordination between departments, maximize synergy, and maintain a shared vision, strategy, and focus.
  • Able and willing to work the necessary hours to meet all project deadlines; travel when necessary.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Must be able to lift and carry 60 pounds of adhesives and products for demos.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position up to 25% of the time.
  • Must be able to bend, climb stairs, and continuously stand or walk up to 75% of the time.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively by listening and in both written and verbal forms.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Generally, works in either a distribution center, a contract worksite, or a home office environment.
  • This position regularly requires large amounts of time to be spent using manufacturing equipment, which generally entails regular and repetitive motions along with exposure to loud noises. All safety procedures should be adhered to in these situations.
  • This position also requires some amount of time to be spent using computer equipment, which entails regular and repetitive motions.
  • Will regularly be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, or chemicals. All safety procedures should be adhered to in each of these situations.

Compensation Range: $85,000 to $100,000 per year

Compensation for the role will depend on several factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience, and may fall outside of the range provided. The compensation range listed above may encompass base salary, performance-based bonuses, and commission opportunities, if applicable. Bona reserves the right to modify or discontinue bonus programs, including their structure and criteria, at any time.
