Construction Association of Michigan is seeking an Adena Crane Operator in Mansfield, OH. The operator will move heavy equipment using various cranes, read load charts, and follow safety procedures to ensure a safe work environment. Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• NCCER/NCCCO Rigging Certification a plus.
• Obtain proper training and certifications prior to operating equipment.
• Experience with variety rigging equipment shackles, straps, slings, rope, hoists.
• Strong working knowledge of lifting signals and communications.
• Considerable knowledge of Crane operating principles.
• Must maintain a valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Eyesight, hearing and coordination requirements to operate controls.
• Dexterity and fine motor skills required.
• Good judgment to work with others without constant supervision.
• Alertness to surroundings at all times.
• Ability to work in loud environments.
• Willingness to travel to job sites with possible overnight stays.
• Dependable attendance and punctuality.

Responsibilities

• Operate different cranes: lattice crawler, hydraulic, tower, etc.
• Read load charts for machines.
• Follow industry signals and safety procedures.
• Rig loads with proper rigging techniques.
• Assist with rigging, forklifts and crane-cab duties.
• Report problems to Foreman or Safety.
• Follow daily job orientations and trainings.
• Inspect equipment and report defects.
• Clean and maintain equipment.
• Adhere to safety policies and OSHA procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Description

Adena Crane Operator

Summary:

The Crane Operator will utilize construction cranes to safely move heavy equipment and materials from one location to another. The Crane Operator may use a variety of different cranes, including tower cranes, mobile cranes, crawler cranes and tower cranes.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

1. Experience operating different types of cranes/crawler cranes. (Lattice Boom Crawler, Large Hydraulic, Small Hydraulic, Tower, Etc.)
2. Reads and understands load charts for different types of machines.
3. Knows and understands industry standard signals.
4. Maneuvers suspended loads over, under, and/or around obstacles using specialized rigging techniques.
5. Performs different rigging challenges.
6. Assist with rigging, driving forklifts and other equipment on top of crane-cab duties.
7. Brings problems/concerns to the attention of the Foreman, Superintendent or Safety Department.
8. Follows daily procedures as set forth in job orientations and trainings.
9. Performs routine inspections on assigned equipment and notifies supervisor of defects or needed repairs.
10. Cleans and maintains equipment regularly.
11. Adheres to the company's safety policies and OSHA safety procedures to create an accident-free work environment.
12. Other duties as assigned

Desired Qualifications/Skills:

1. High School Diploma or GED required
2. NCCER/NCCCO (National Center for Construction Education and Research) Rigging Certification a plus.
3. Sufficient education or an equivalent combination of experience, education and training that provides the desired knowledge, skills and characteristics to operate heavy equipment.
4. Obtain proper training and certifications prior to operating equipment
5. Experience with variety rigging equipment shackles, straps, slings, rope, hoists
6. Strong working knowledge of lifting signals and communications
7. Considerable knowledge of Crane operating principles
8. Must maintain a valid driver's license and clean driving record
9. Operators must have good eyesight, hearing and better than average coordination in order to operate both hand and foot levers simultaneously
10. Must have the necessary dexterity and fine motor skills
11. Operators must have good judgment in order to perform complicated tasks and must be able to work closely with other crafts without constant supervision.
12. Operators must be alert constantly and observant of their surroundings.
13. Ability to work in an environment where the noise level is generally loud.
14. Must be willing and able to travel to jobsites which may at times require overnight stays away from home
15. Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency
16. Must have a good work ethic, and the ability to understand and carry out written or verbal instructions
