Job summary

Molex in Lisle, IL seeks an Additive Manufacturing Technician Co-Op to program, set up and operate SLA, DLP and FDM printers, and support equipment to fabricate additive manufactured piece parts.

You will join the Copper Solutions Business Unit, collaborate with Product Engineering and Tooling teams, and help maintain safety, records, and documentation while supporting prototype development.

  • High school diploma or GED, or related additive manufacturing experience.
  • The ability to do precision work and keep one's hands steady.
  • The ability to work with chemicals and wear personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • A team player willing to consider input from supervisors and other departments.
  • A self-starter with a proactive attitude and initiative.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate SLA, DLP, and FDM machines.
  • Post process parts: clean, remove supports, post cure, package and ship.
  • Measure, examine, and inspect parts using precision instruments like micrometers.
  • Support engineering by helping develop prototype samples and product concepts.
  • Maintain 6-S housekeeping and a safe work environment.
  • Ensure equipment is properly maintained and keep maintenance records.

Your Job

As an Additive Manufacturing Technician Co-Op at Molex, you will program, set up and operate additive 3D printers, SLA and DLP machines along with supporting equipment to fabricate additive manufactured piece parts.

Our Team

You will be part of the Copper Solutions Business Unit and report to the Model Shop Supervisor. Our collaborative team includes Product Engineering, Automation, Manufacturing Integration Engineering, and all CSBU Tooling Teams.

What You Will Do
  • Set up and operate SLA, DLP, and FDM machines
  • Post process parts: clean, remove supports, post cure, package and ship
  • Measure, examine, and inspect completed parts; detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications using precision instruments such as micrometers.
  • Support the Engineering community by helping develop prototype samples and product concepts.
  • Support PBM (Principle based management) guiding principles: integrity, stewardship & compliance, transformation, knowledge, humility, respect and self-actualization.
  • Support 6‑S housekeeping principles to maintain a clean, organized and safe environment.
  • Ensure all equipment is properly maintained and preventative maintenance records are kept.
  • Accurately complete required record‑keeping of daily work log.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
  • High school graduate, GED, or related additive manufacturing experience.
  • The ability to do precision work and keep one's hands steady.
  • The ability to work with chemicals and wear personal protective equipment when needed, (PPE).
  • A team player who is cooperative and willing to consider input from supervisors, co‑workers, and members from other departments.
  • A self‑starter. Candidate must be proactive rather than reactive to accomplish tasks and meet deadlines. A "Can Do" attitude.
  • Good communication skills to exchange information clearly and concisely with engineers, co‑workers, and supervisor.
  • Flexibility which demonstrates the ability to respond to frequent priority changes.
What Will Put You Ahead
  • Technical classes in additive manufacturing with certification.
  • Ability to program additive printers.
  • Ability to post‑process parts.
  • Understanding of routine maintenance requirements on equipment.
Compensation

For this role, we anticipate paying $16/hr to $18/hr.
