Job summary

Hadrian in Torrance, California is seeking a seasoned Automation & Robotics engineer to own data integration across manufacturing systems and manage end-to-end traceability of builds. You will drive canonical data models, pipelines, and interfaces for MES/SCADA connections and ensure rugged pipeline reliability.

You will collaborate with OEMs, IT, and engineering to deploy scalable solutions, verify requirements, and maintain rigorous documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years connecting production manufacturing equipment to higher-level software systems — MES, SCADA, historian, or data platforms.
• Hands-on fluency with industrial machine communication: OPC-UA and MQTT, plus at least one PLC platform at the tag/program level.
• Strong database engineering: relational schema design and SQL fluency, time-series storage experience.
• Experience designing and operating data pipelines in production.

Responsibilities

• Build and own the connectivity layer across the AM fleet, including log, file, and tag-level extraction.
• Own schemas, dictionaries, naming conventions, units, and versioning to enable scalable integration across platforms.
• Design, build, and operate telemetry and build data pipelines with uptime and data integrity guarantees.
• Define interface and data requirements; verify delivered systems; maintain change-controlled interface documentation.
• Instrument supplementary sensing, edge compute, and data acquisition where native data is insufficient.
